“We looked at a couple of other builders, but once we saw Jandson Homes’ Horizon the search ended”

“We love the Horizon, it had the layout we wanted with minimal changes. In fact, the changes were one of the variations offered,” explained Jane. In their situation it was to move the main bedroom to the back of the house to take advantage of the views. They also added a three-metre verandah to the back of the home and incorporated a balcony above.

“We look out over a playing field and have a lovely canopy of trees at the back fence which is home to many bats, possums and a host of birdlife,” Jane added.

That’s what the Horizon is best know for, its versatility and flexible design!

In addition to altering the floor plan to take better advantage of the views etc, they also opted for the addition of a sliding door between the second and third bedrooms, “effectively giving our daughter her own mini apartment.

“The home was also well suited to a number of requirements we had. Emily is disabled, and a lot of here friends are in wheelchairs. The Horizon has enough space to easily accommodate this.

“Upstairs is wide and open plan, so there is plenty of room to move. Additionally the design of the shower (as per the original plan) can accommodate shower chairs etc down the track. And, the banisters are such that a motorised lift can be attached, if needed.

“We also loved the shape of the house and the recessed windows which make the home feel bright and open, but privacy is still preserved,” said Jane.

Before deciding on Jandson Homes’ Horizon, Michael and Jane looked at 5 or 6 builders, “but once we saw this house the search ended”.

Jane described the home’s façade as “clean, modern and blue”. In fact, they liked the colours of the display home so much they used them on their own. “The two tone, green-blue textured façade blends well with the surrounding trees. It probably stands out a little from the surrounding homes, which are 30 years old, but the neighbourhood is beginning to be modernised.”
